Abdulgafar Ahmad aka Cute Abiola should have known the implications of his actions and inactions as a naval staff who is not new to the profession.
Although, he is also an entertainment personality who specializes in making comedy/skits especially online, that does not in any way mean that he should violate the rules of the Navy where he works. Currently, Ahmad has spent 10 days in the custody of the Nigerian Navy after he was arrested days ago.
According to a report by The Punch, the Navy vowed that it would deal with Ahmad’s case administratively. This was made known by the Naval Spokesperson, Saluman Dahun when he spoke on the fate of Ahmad whose release date he did not disclose.
This article will discuss three mistakes Ahmad made which landed him in naval custody.
1. Ahmad made a mistake by violating the naval rules through his action. This is the very first mistake he made. Recording video clip in naval uniform and posting it on social media was against the rule of the force.
As a staff who has worked with the force for some years, he is not a newbie neither was he under probation so that such offense could be waved for him. While the Navy did not stop Ahmad from making skits which also give him money, fame and satisfaction as a social media celebrity, he should have known how not to cross the line.
As a force, the Navy has rules which all its staff should obey. Or did he prefer to flout the naval rules just in a bid to impress his fans with the skit?
