A random lady on the internet has revealed her deepest secret in the form of a confession about how she was able to collect funds for her husband’s medical expenses by sleeping with his landlord.
The landlord, it seems, wants the act to proceed and he plans to blackmail her if she does not comply with his demands. As a consequence, she’s in a pickle and seeks advice from the internet.
“I’ve been married to my husband for over five years and we have two children. He works for a respectable business and makes a good living.
We were living happily when my husband became ill and became absent at home and at work.
My husband quit his job as a result of a debilitating illness that necessitated extensive surgery, and I had to abandon my teaching job to care for him.
Stuff took a turn for the worse. Almost half of our assets were sold in order to purchase pricey medications on a weekly basis. His fitness weakened, our rent was over due, and our landlord threatened to evict us.
I tried everything I could to raise money to pay off the mounting bills, but no one was able to contribute. Family members, acquaintances, and coworkers all had varying excuses for me.
I was at a loss for what to do next. My husband needed immediate surgery that would cost over a million Naira or he would die.
The six-month notice of eviction from the home, on the other hand, was about to expire, and I had nowhere to move the kids and my dying child.
My children couldn’t handle watching their father in agony and asked me to help.
I wanted to visit the landlord and plead with him again after being unable to lift the house rent.
When I arrived at his house a few streets down, the landlord gave me a soft drink, but I declined.
He promised to help me with the money for my husband’s surgery and to waive the debt I owe on one condition after hearing about my case.
My expression was brightened with a ray of optimism. I erroneously inquired about the condition of the property and claimed that I would do anything to save my husband’s life.
He confronted me and told me that the condition was that I lay in bed with him.
In a fit of anger, I rose and stormed out of his apartment. I promised myself that I couldn’t do something so heinous to my husband.
My husband was writhing in agony as I returned to my apartment. Since their father was in excruciating agony, the children sat next to him, weeping uncontrollably.
I felt a prickling of my conscience. I couldn’t bear the sight of their tears. We didn’t have much time left. Accepting the landlord’s bid was the only viable alternative.
The next morning, I woke up and reluctantly returned to the landlord’s flat.
When he saw me, he chuckled. He handed me a N1.2 million cheque and a receipt for the owed rent for the previous year and six months. I did the impossible for him, and I cried on the way there.
My husband’s surgery was good, and I paid for it. My husband was released a few weeks later after being prescribed post-operative drugs.
He started to ask me shortly after his recovery about how I was able to collect such a large amount of money for his surgery. I couldn’t help myself and told him the truth. He wasn’t persuaded. Rather, he appeared to show symptoms of ingratitude.
A few months later, I got a call from my landlord requesting that I come to his apartment and repeat what we did, or face revealing the truth to my husband.
I’ve hit a fork in the road. My life will be ended if my husband learns the facts. If I comply with the landlord’s demands, he will continue to harass me.
I’m caught between the devil and the great blue sea right now.
What am I going to do? I’m looking for some help.
