A Nigerian man identified as Shadrach Dare has revealed that after years of contemplating on whether to become a doctor or nurse, he became both eventually.
Born and raised in Ghana, Shadrach Dare got admission to University of Cape Coast and University of Ghana in 2007 and both offered him Nursing and Biological Sciences respectively.
After his national service, he subsequently won a Commonwealth Scholarship to further his studies at Glasgow for a Master of Public Health.
After his Master’s Degree, he won ano ther Commonwealth Scholarship for a PhD Public Health and graduated at the age of 28.
In a post Shadrack Dare made on social media reported by Yabaleft.ng, he said
“So I ‘settled’ for Nursing at UCC. But in Nursing School I made a resolution: to be the best nurse possible.”
“Today I am a Nurse and a Doctor of Public Health. I did not have to choose to be a nurse or doctor. I became both.”
