Burna Boy has finally received delivery of his Grammy plaque, three months after winning the award.
The singer took to social media this morning to announce the arrival of his award and he was full of excitement.
“Early morning deliveries from across the pond!” he wrote.
He said, his parents asked him for a Grammy and, “here we are.” He also added that he is a “product of sacrifice” as his parents prayed for excellent children.
Burna Boy won the award for the ‘Best Global Music Album‘ at the premiere ceremony of the 63rd Grammy Awards which took place in March this year.
Though it is Burna’s first Grammy win, it was however not his first Grammy nomination. The self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ was nominated in that same category in 2020 but the award was won by Angelique Kidjo in that year.
On finally winning his first Grammy award, Burna started that, it was a big win for Africans all over the world and urged Africans to take his win as a lesson and believe that, “no matter where your, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it.”
