This morning, a young man named Martins Aigbokhan drove into his father’s compound with a Mercedes Benz- C class, joyous and overwhelmed with happiness. He presented the car keys to his father, Chief Friday Aigbokhan, who bluntly rejected the gift.
This came as a shock to young Martins, as he thought his dad would be jumping at the gift. Instead his father asked him what he actually did for a living to have the funds to buy such an exotic car.
He made it very clear to him that he believed that he was an internet fraudster and wouldn’t want to have anything to do with his money.
According to his younger sister who spoke with the author of this article, she said that her father asked him several times what kind of job he was into, but never got a straight answer from his son. Now all of a sudden he appeared a year later with police escorts, driving expensive cars. In his words, he said, ” I thought you told me you were working in a spa in Lagos.
After which you told me you had problems with the management and left. After that you told me you were now into affiliate something, which I didn’t understand, and you didn’t explain properly. Then later, you told me you now work in a bank. Tell me how much is your monthly salary, that you can afford all these luxuries? If them send you make you come bring your papa head, tell them sey I travel, and I no go come back till further notice.”
The distraught young man had to return the vehicle and returned back to Lagos, but his father is taking the issue a bit too serious by threatening to report his son to the village council and by extension, the village shrine.
